Fun-Filled Memories: A Family Session at Clarks Hill Lake, SC


This recent family session at Clarks Hill Lake, South Carolina, was one for the books! I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful family of five—one big sister and two little brothers, each with their own unique personality. From the moment we started, their energy was contagious, and it turned into a session filled with laughter and love.


One thing that made this session stand out is that I helped style the family, which is something I’m planning to incorporate into all of my 2025 family sessions. It’s a service I’m excited to offer, and seeing how confident and comfortable this family felt in their outfits really validated my decision! They were such fun to work with, and I was thrilled when Dad gave me one of the best compliments I’ve ever received: “This was FUN!” Typically, dads aren’t always excited about being part of the photoshoot, but my goal is to make these sessions fun and memorable for the entire family.


During this session, I aimed to capture more than just posed pictures. I wanted to photograph genuine moments of love and connection—whether it was teaching the little ones how to skip rocks, tickling and giggling together, or just parents sharing sweet moments. These are the memories that mean the most, and my job as a family photographer is to ensure you and your children have these snapshots of love to look back on when they’re older.


One of my favorite things to capture during family sessions is the natural, unfiltered love. From the way parents scrunch their nose when kissed by their little one to the way partners share a glance (or crack up at each other), those are the moments your children will treasure in the future. It’s more than just photos—it’s about preserving the feeling of love and joy within your family.
