Capturing the First Moments: A Fresh 48 Session to Remember in Evans, Georgia
As a photographer specializing in newborn, maternity, family, and child photography, I have the privilege of documenting some of life's most beautiful moments. Recently, I had the honor of capturing the magic of a Fresh 48 session for a beautiful family who had just welcomed their newest member.
I had first met this mom when she contacted me for a newborn session. But when I mentioned the option of a Fresh 48 session – a session that takes place within the first 48 hours of a baby's life – she was intrigued. The thought of capturing those very first moments with their newborn was too special to pass up.
On the day of the session, I arrived at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, Georgia to find the room bathed in beautiful natural light. The atmosphere was serene, and there was a palpable sense of joy and excitement in the air. Mom looked radiant, with a glow that only comes from welcoming a new life into the world. And grandma was doting on her daughter and her new grandbaby, a scene that warmed my heart.
The session was relaxed and intimate, with no posing or artificial lighting. I simply captured the family as they naturally interacted with each other and with their newborn. There were moments of tenderness and love, laughter and joy, and everything in between. It was a beautiful reminder of the raw, unfiltered beauty of family and the bond that forms between a parent and their child.
As the session came to an end, I couldn't help but feel grateful to have been a part of this special moment. The images we captured will serve as a timeless reminder of the love and joy that filled the room during those first 48 hours.
